It's the end of the third day on my diet. On Thursday I went to the doctor and stood on this weird scale in my bare feet. It measures EVERYTHING. She entered my height and age into the scale and it printed out this little receipt thingy that says my weight, my water weight, my BMI (which I think is just something to make you feel worse about your body weight), and lots of other things that were mysteriously represented by initials that didn't really pertain to what they really were. They told me, but I didn't pay much attention to the stuff I didn't recognize. Officially my starting weight is...deep breath...229.2 pounds. I haven't told anybody my real weight since I don't know when, but I want to be completely honest for this. I check in again on Wednesday to see how well I'm doing.
I left for Utah after my Dr.'s appointment. I had the best time on my trip! I was alone, but it was fantastic! This diet calls for tons and tons of water/fluids. By the time I got to the hotel I had to go SO BADLY! I can usually hold it for hours on end, but not anymore! I have to take several pills and supplements throughout the day and I am limited to 500 calories a day. Sounds scary, but the vitamins and supplements make sure I'm not missing anything so my body doesn't freak out. Anyway, I had to find a froom, before I even checked into the hotel. Once I was checked in and unloaded all my stuff, I settled onto my GIANT KINGSIZE BED and hung out till it was time to go to the first play, Comedy of Errors. It was very well done! I had a great time there, and then I toodled over to the grocery store to pick up some "diet approved" food for the hotel room. I had a late dinner of a turkey dog and a small can of chicken. Gotta love the protein! Went to bed not feeling hungry all day!
The next morning I woke up early. I'm not sure if it was the B12 shot they gave me at the office or what, because I pretty much wanted to sleep in. I had a little bit of a headache so I took some Tylenol, had a protein shake for breakfast and then read for a few hours until it was time to go to my next play, The Secret Garden. This is one of my favorite musicals and it was pretty dang fantastic! The weather was SO NICE that after the show I sat down on a bench under a big ol' oak tree and read for about an hour. This was my favorite part of the trip. There was a nice cool breeze and it was so quiet on the campus. It was peaceful and relaxing and I probably could have stayed there forever. After a couple hours I realized that they were setting up for the Greenshow, which I had missed the night before! So I stayed planted on my bench with my book until the show started, and then after that I went back to the hotel. I read until I figured it was time to go to bed, since I had to drive home in the morning.
Saturday morning (today) I woke up with a little more of a headache. Same routine as Friday morning and then I loaded up my stuff and headed out. This afternoon I felt a tiny bit dizzy, (which they said would happen) but it stopped as soon as I had a turkey dog. I haven't really been hungry at all, which is kinda nifty. The doctor said the third and fourth day are usually the toughest, and today wasn't that bad. We'll see how tomorrow goes.
